If we’re being honest, this past week at Briarwood Farms has been one of the hardest we’ve had in a long time.
Fendi went into labor, and what started with so much hope ended in heartbreak. Out of nine puppies, one was lost in utero. Another was born with severe deformities and, despite our best efforts, passed away just a few days later. Two tiny preemies came into the world struggling from the start. They’re still here, and they’re still fighting—but it’s been a daily, exhausting battle. We’re tube feeding them every few hours, keeping them in an incubator with oxygen, and supporting them with sub-Q fluids, antibiotics, and as much love as we can give.
Initially, we had five other baby girls who were doing well, nursing on Fendi and growing strong. But then the unexpected hit: Fendi developed mastitis. Her milk became toxic, and one by one, we lost the others. Now, only one of those girls remains—and we are doing everything we can to keep her with us.

We’re in the trenches: exhausted, emotional, and praying over every feeding. This is the part of breeding people don’t always see. It’s raw and real and painful. But we believe these little lives matter. So we keep going.
In the midst of the heartache, there’s a different kind of chaos happening just a few feet away. The Cavapoos.
We have a lot of them right now, and they are absolutely full of life. They’re bouncing, playing, wrestling, and living like tomorrow is always guaranteed. Their joy is infectious. And honestly? They’re the comic relief we didn’t know we’d need so badly this week.
We’re pouring ourselves into their training, socialization, and care—making sure each one is not only healthy but confident, cuddly, and well-prepared for family life. They’re a reminder that joy can live right beside sorrow, and life keeps moving—even when it’s hard.
If you’ve been praying, following along, or cheering us on—thank you. We feel it. And we need it.
With tired hearts and hopeful hands,
The Briarwood Farms Team
